Nirupam Shrivastava is a result-oriented power plant manager based in India. He has over seventeen years of experience in the industry and currently works as the Operations Shift Manager for Mirfa International Power & Water Company.
Over the last six-plus years, Nirupam Shrivastava has grown into his role as Operations Shift Manager. In addition to managing PWPA contracts, he has also worked on Health & Safety, Safety Rules, Process Safety Management, and other areas related to management systems. He is responsible for dispatching electricity and water from Mirfa Power & Water facility as directed by the off-taker. By doing so, the plant is operated safely and in compliance with PWPA standards (among other measures, regulations, and concerns). Since Nirupam joined Mirfa International in July 2016, he has perfected following these regulations.
Nirupam Shrivastava attended Nagpur University, India, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Following this, Nirupam attended the National Power Training Institute in India, earning a post-graduate diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering. In addition, Mr. Shrivastava took it upon himself to better his leadership skills by taking a General Management program through the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). Over the years, Nirupam Shrivastava has earned many certifications for his industry, including becoming a certified OHS Practitioner and IRCA Certified Lead Auditor (for ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
There are two primary concerns Nirupam Shrivastava holds regarding the power industry. The first is safety. At Mirfa International Power, Nirupam has played a pivotal role in safety implementation and regulatory compliance. In addition to being an authorized safety controller, he is also an authorized safety coordinator for implementing cross-border safety rules. Essentially, Mirfa International values Nirupam Shrivastav’s opinion on safety standards. As a leader, Nirupam takes pride in ensuring his team stays safe. As such, he has become responsible for reporting on process safety performance indicators and participating in incident investigations. To further his safety goals, NEBOSH has certified Nirupam Shrivastav for Professional Safety Management and for Occupational Health & Safety.
The second concern Nirupam Shrivastava holds close to his heart is green technology. Mr. Shrivastava is passionate about finding green solutions to our power problems. This is one of the primary reasons he chose this industry. Green technology is a broad term that covers any more environmentally friendly or sustainable technology. For example, clean energy production. Being a manager inside the power plant industry has given Nirupam Shrivastava specific insight, not to mention opportunities to change the way we produce energy. Nirupam Shrivastava hopes to create more opportunities for change in the future.
Nirupam Shrivastava has a wide range of interests outside of his professional pursuits. The latest developments in technology and entrepreneurial endeavors fascinate him, and he strives to keep up with them. He is particularly interested in developing electric vehicles and using green hydrogen power based on his electrical engineering and power production background. Nirupam’s hobbies include photography and music, which allow him to exercise his creativity within his personal sphere.
